Why Medicare doesn’t pay for custodial care?
Home care is considered custodial care when it is for the purpose of helping with activities of daily living or meeting personal needs and can be done safely and reasonably by people without professional skills or training. For example, custodial care includes help getting in and out of bed, bathing, using the bathroom, eating and taking medicine.
